Application integration continues to be a strategic imperative for all sorts of businesses. It has been proven that integration innovations between various applications can help simplify business processes and fully unfold the potential of an intelligent enterprise.
This is why harmonization and integration became a significant part of our commitment to our clients, we provide our customers with bespoke pre-integrated SAP solutions and help them integrate it with their internal operations and processes to ensure maximum efficiency through a consolidated platform like SAP Bussiness Technology Platform.
Over the last couple of years, SAP has invested heavily in developing top-notch integration features. Below are some of the topics that SAP BTP integration features have proven to improve:
Unified User Experience
In Q4 last year SAP announced the launch of SAP Start, a new central web-native entry point into the intelligent enterprise, free of charge and works with all SAP cloud business solutions. This unique offering curates the most relevant business information in one central place, based on the user’s role in the company. It enables easy search and navigation of all SAP cloud business apps and visibility of the status of tasks from the connected business solutions.
Moreover, with SAP Task Center, we provide our clients with a unified inbox for approvals of multiple applications in a seamless and integrated user experience. Approvals from multiple SAP solutions are collected in one list and processed in just one click. This SAP BTP service integrates into all significant SAP applications including SAP Ariba Sourcing, SAP Ariba Buying, and SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition and SAP Build Process Automation, for a central view of our customers’ entire workflow management.
SAP also recently introduced a mobile experience strategy that will focus on customers can access all SAP solutions through their phones seamlessly better than before.
The recent release of SAP Mobile Start for Android highlights that SAP’s Mobile Experience is here to change the way people work with SAP across devices. For example, getting the latest workflow notifications anywhere and approving items becomes radically simpler and quicker with added SAP Task Center features that bundle requests from several systems in SAP Mobile Start, on any device.
Improving Documentation Quality and Predefining Integration Content
There are 23 end-to-end documentations available in SAP API Business Hub for the leading processes of any intelligent enterprise (Lead to Cash, Recruit to Retire, Source to Pay, Design to Operate).
Moreover, users can now access around 3,400 APIs on SAP API Business Hub and 2600 pre-packaged integration flows – for both numbers that are around 20% more than previous versions
Most importantly, that predefined integration content can be used for SAP-to-SAP, SAP-to-non-SAP, cloud, and on-premise integration. More than 90% of SAP’s public APIs are now documented in the API Business Hub and can be tested there.
Interfaces for the Integration of Hybrid Landscapes and 3rd Party Applications
The SAP Integration Suite complements the expansion of the SAP API Business Hub as a content hub for integration with third-party providers and on-premise solutions with constantly developing SAP’s versatile integration platform. We leverage this platform with our SAP customers to deploy thousands of integration flows. It also enables up to 170K connections across SAP and third-party applications in their landscapes.
Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for EiPaaS solutions has recognized SAP Integration Suite for a second consecutive year as a leader. Partner companies of the so-called Integration Factory constantly expand third-party adaptations and integration scenarios, while also providing integration scenarios as community content.
Security and Identity Management
SAP has made significant progress in unifying identity management in the cloud. The customer can now assign a landscape-wide user identifier and distribute it using the identity tools of their choice.
In addition, all SAP applications now implement the system for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM). All modern identity management tools today support SCIM which makes it easier to integrate SAP cloud applications.
