Project Scope and Strategy
Previously reliant on the SAP ECC system for business operations, the client identified the need for an upgrade to a more sophisticated and efficient system. This led to the decision to implement SAP S/4HANA 2020 across three legal entities and three manufacturing plants, aiming to streamline their business processes and amplify operational efficiency.
The project scope involved the migration from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, covering modules such as Finance, Controlling, Materials Management, Sales & Distribution, Production Planning, Document Management System, Warehouse Management, Plant Maintenance, and Quality Management. Custom developments were meticulously migrated to ensure continuity, while obsolete custom developments were strategically sunsetted. SAP S/4HANA’s advanced features were harnessed and tailored to meet the client’s specific business requirements. Additionally, SAP Fiori was deployed for an enhanced user experience, while Solution Manager 7.2 was integrated for proficient project management.
Challenges and Implementations:
The primary challenge encountered by the client was orchestrating a smooth transition from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA without interrupting daily business operations. To tackle this, the project team worked in close collaboration with the client’s business leaders and IT department, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the business processes and requirements.
